Obstruction to views
Despite the availability of delicate designs, most people hesitate to install window grilles since they can appear as an obstruction to view the outdoors.
Dependant on size
In case you often shift homes, you may not be able to re-use the window grilles since they need to match the size of the window. You would need to buy new grilles or select an adaptable home security system.
Obstructing emergency access
Removable designs are available which allow the invisible grille to be opened. Retractable models and those with a quick release mechanism allow the grille to be operated from inside. However, in case of emergency evacuation, this could pose an impediment.
Grilles can also hinder fire-fighter access. This disadvantage is mitigated by opting for models which retain safety attributes, but allows easy operation without tools or keys.
